November 2008 update
2008-11-10 - 11:09 a.m.
November 2008 Hey everyone. Wow! It’s only the 10th of November and we’ve already got a mailout done. This could only mean one thing… Yes, you got it – Loz didn’t do this one! Yes, it’s The Colonel here, and now I feel a great pressure to get everything right after all of October’s chastising and nit-picking. First things first… A huge shout-out to everyone who made it down to the Chapel on Saturday night to see the “Thunderbards” show. It was a huge success, and Rob “New Guy” Latham was met with the warmest of receptions. I think it’s fair to say that Rob is gonna fit right in around here – probably cemented on Saturday night when he voluntarily dropped his pants and sung that way for an entire six minute song! Aside from his misguided choice of underwear, I think everyone in attendance agrees he’s Suade through and through. Didn’t get your fix? In a bizarre turn of events, one of Loz’s mates is selling a huge factory in Port Melbourne, and we have decided to rehearse there tonight... Right next to Frank Walker's National Tiles. Hallloooooooo. It is apparently an incredible space both atmospherically and acoustically, and we seldom turn down these chances to change the scenery and inspire ourselves a little. So we decided that since we’re there, we might as well put on a little show. Very casual, very underground, and most importantly very free! So bring a chair, a slab, some munchies, some friends and a warm jumper and come meet the lads in a very informal setting for some Monday night industrial harmonies: “SECRET” Suade Show TONIGHT! AALTO Factory 541 Graham Street Port Melbourne 8:30PM SHARP BYO everything, including chairs, food, drinks and friends! Other Shows? This year’s winding down rather quickly, but if you still need a fix before Christmas time, you’ll find Suade performing all our favourite carols and stuff at: Dendy Park Brighton Tuesday 9th December (Twilight) Glen Eira (Caulfield Racecourse) Sunday 21st December (Twilight) More details to come – keep an eye on the website for more. One last thing Finally, we’re about to start the design, post-production and mastering of our new CD, and as yet we’re stuck for an album name. So far we're thinking "Thunderbards," "Blue Taxi" or "Singin' in our Underpants" but we're taking submissions from all who care. Anyone who lands us with a winner will be handsomely rewarded. Feel free to email me (thecolonel@suade.net) with all your suggestions. Until next month, keep on doing that thing you do! The Colonel ...and the Suade lads. :)
