Alice Springs, and working on the new CD

Just a quick update folks: August was fun - especially the quick trip we took out to Alice Springs. As guests of the Snooze company, we did a quick gig in Alice before jumping on a bus and joining the guys on a trip out to Uluru (Ayers Rock) for a look around. Spectacular stuff - although the highlight of the trip would have to be the rowdy campfire singalong in the desert after watching the sun set on the Rock. Photos soon, I'll chase Roy for them. Right now, we're working on tracking recordings of all our new original material. With our engineer busy, the Colonel has been taking over sound desk/ProTools duties, and doing a pretty damn good job of it. We're trying to keep the nice live vocal sound of our earlier recordings, and evolve it using some interesting techniques. We haven't ruled out the possibility of including some instrumentation - what do you think, would you like to hear some tracks with guitar or keys, or a full band? Or should we stick to the pure vocal sound on our first two records? Let us know in the guestbook. A couple of fun tracks are starting to emerge from the studio... Once we're happy with the demos we'll start posting them up so you can have a stickybeak and tell us what you think. I've got a feeling you'll like these new tracks! As far as live gigs go, we're doing a few corporate shows and parties but nothing public for the next little while as we focus on the CD. Once that's done we'll be hitting the live scene again and doing as many shows as we can, while gearing up to take the new CD overseas. But it all hinges on whether we can write and record a great original CD... Wish us luck! ;)
