July's a BIG month for us!

2007-07-18 - 4:08 p.m.

Hey there lovely people!

Gig this Saturday:
Well as always, Suade's been pretty busy and we're raring to go for the gig this Saturday. Tickets for dinner sold out lightning fast which is great (thanks for jumping on board folks) and there are only a small number of tickets remaining for the show. If you're planning to come on down, make sure you give them a bell and book a seat, 'cause there is very limited space. If you've booked a ticket and don't want to come anymore, please let them know so we can fill your spot.

Meeting Barnesy:
As far as news goes, we had a great gig the other night at Crown Casino's Palladium. A thousand or more of Telstra's luckiest Sales Executives were treated to a bit of Suade action right before some old fella called Jimmy Barnes stepped on stage to scream out a few hits. Very cool! And we've picked up some new warm-up tips from the great man too - blood-curdling, security-calling, larynx-tearing screams between honey gargles right before he goes on. Think we'll stick to what we know best and leave the screaming to Mr Barnes...

New TV footage up:
We also did a bit of singing on Channel 31's Eastern Newsbeat the other day - you can check out some footage from it on our myspace if you want.

We're on the radio this Friday (Melb):
If you can't make it down on the weekend, and don't think you can stand the withdrawals between shows, we're doing a live feed for 3MBS radio (103.5FM) from the BMW Edge theatre at Federation Square this Friday. The show starts at 12:00 midday, and there's a whole joyous bevy of excellent local talent who'll be there to play and talk for the showcase. We'll be providing the huge finale performance at 4:00pm if everything goes to schedule, so come on down and make sure there's some "Barnsey-style" screaming fans in the background when we step on stage! Details here.

Congratulations to Rors:
As some of you may know, Rors' been involved recently in a theatre show called "I love you, you're perfect, now change." The rest of us went down to TheatreWorks to check it out, and were blown away by a great script, a strong cast, and a stand-out performance by Rors doing about 10 different characters to a tee - who'da known he was such a brilliant actor? Reviews have been sensational, but the show has wrapped up, so sorry we didn't let you know earlier. There's a good chance they may do another run of it, we'll keep you posted. Congrats Rors and Groove Tonic on some astounding acting work and a hilarious show!

Can't wait for the weekend - the originals are sounding supurb, and we can't wait to hear what you think.

See you then, stay safe.

The Colonel and the boys from Suade :)
